Fall “Serging a Machine Cover”
Project: Custom sewing machine or Serger cover
Instructor: Susan Parks
We will create a cover for the machine you bring to class. A large part of the class is measuring and assembling parts cut out with pattern you make (or use my Triumph pattern), and the remainder will be to stitch up the cover in a way to make a soft or firm machine cover for any machine in your house. This could be adapted to make covers for other appliances such as mixers!
We will primarily use 4 thread overlock, how to make a pattern, and construction of a functional item. If you would like to finish edge in a rolled hem, we will if time allows.
I will distribute handouts for both procedures.
If you will bring tools, Darlene and I can come at 9:15 to help you select things you like that will be good for your materials.
