Tucker University is an exciting opportunity to help quilters build their skills and accuracy in piecing. We will meet once a month and explore one ruler per session. This program is designed to teach you how to obtain accurage size squares, half squares and much more.
Have you cut your pieces perfectly, only to have them sew together too small or come out wonky? You're posititve you cut right, but something went wrong and you can't figure out what? Then this is the course for you.
There is no pattern for a finished quilt with this course, but you can build a sampler quilt from the units you make if you so choose. If so, please come in for suggested yardage to buy of each fabric to do so.

We will start with the Tucker Trimmer 1 & Shaded Four Patch lesson.
1-101 Tucker Trimmer 1 - Learn how to use a Tucker Trimmer 1 to create half square triangles, quarter square triangles, and combination units. With the Tucker Trimmer 1 alone a quilter has 33 opportunities to create precise units. These units are often what we refer to as basic units, therefore they must be precise to fit nicely with more advanced units. This is a perfect place for any quilter to begin their journey through the Studio 180 Design set of tools.
The use of a Tucker Trimmer can be expanded by creating a Shaded Four Patch unit. By using Deb Tucker’s method of strip piecing, the construction of a shaded-four patch, the quilter eliminates the need to stitch fabrics on an unsecured bias. This method also eliminates the stretching and puckering within the unit. Quilters will use their Tucker Trimmer 1 to finalize their units and then discover a wide array of layouts that can be created with just one block.

Bring your machine, fabrics you bought ahead of time, Tucker Trimmer Ruler, thread, marking pen, rotary cutter (with good blade), thread snips, small cutting mat. Any sewing accessories you like to travel with. Be considerate of others and not have to borrow.
Once you sign up, come in to pick out your fabrics and receive cutting instructions which you will prep before class day.

Class Cancellation Policy:
Thank you for signing up for a class at Ready Set Sew in East Ridge/Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Due to the high number of late-notice cancellations, our cancellation policy has been updated:
In the case that you are unable to attend the class, you must cancel at least 5 days prior to class date for a FULL refund. If you cancel 3-5 days prior to class, there is a 50% forfeiture fee deducted from your class fee. You may choose to transfer to another class if available, with a $20 transfer fee plus additional registration fee if applicable. If you cancel less than 3 days prior to class, your class fee is 100% forfeited. Transfer to another class is not available with less than a 3-day cancellation.
If the class is cancelled by Ready Set Sew, you will have the option of getting your full money back OR transfer the full amount you paid to another class.
